Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is in the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
The Rooted Family Vision
We are a co-op grounded in the Christian worldview, seeking to glorify God in all things. Families learn together in a holistic, age-integrated environment with break-out sessions to meet specific needs of various age groups. This type of structure facilitates family unity and ignites excitement in students for their studies. When children catch a passion for learning they become initiators discussing important topics, expressing themselves through writing, creatively pursuing goals, directing projects, and even starting businesses.
We are a literature-based co-op that requires parents to participate in the educational process as teachers and facilitators. Parent instructors will find support by serving within their giftings and areas of expertise. Operating core classes from a topical perspective allows us to use many different resources and common curricula, unifying our group and strengthening each family’s quest to cover required subjects adequately.
We anticipate additional educational experiences growing out of our core class interaction with our older group of students. These activities will be scheduled as needed on our Tuesday overflow day. These drop-off sessions will include entrepreneurial classes, extra science labs, career and tech classes, and additional history activities- all of which will build life skills and create ever-growing opportunities for our young people.
Community is the fruit of a shared journey. As families share the rich experience of learning and growing together, we are confident that meaningful, lasting friendships will result for both students and parents.
The Format
The Rooted Family Homeschool Co-op will begin the first week of September 2024 and end the week before Memorial Day in May 2025. Our co-op meets on Fridays.
Our Friday co-op is not just a program, it’s a community where we all come together to create a nurturing learning environment for our children. All families, regardless of their teaching experience, will take turns teaching and supporting each other. When you register, please let us know which subjects and age groups you’re comfortable with. We’ll ensure you’re teaching or supporting in a way that suits you best.
We are a literature-based co-op, using a plethora of resources, including curriculum, to create our lessons. Families are welcome to use whatever curriculum they choose at home, whether it follows along with our topics and lessons or not. Some of the core academic classes will have a weekly plan or assignments to do at home, thus helping relieve the pressure of homeschooling. Our weekly meeting day will provide a lesson and an activity or demonstration to encourage children to engage with the material.
Throughout the year, there are extra opportunities for activities and field trips. All are welcome to participate as much or as little extra as they choose. Sometimes, the extra activities, which include field trips, life skills opportunities, organized games, and gym, as well as other additional classes, may have additional costs.
Our semester will culminate in May with a Ceremony showcasing our children’s achievements. Friends and family members are welcome to attend.
We will meet at 65 Big Tree Street in Livonia, NY.

Leadership Team
Bridgette Heap
Bridgette and her husband, Aaron, have been homeschooling their two beautiful children, ages twelve and ten, for the past six years. Bridgette spends her days balancing homeschooling with working for Feed My Sheep Foundation, starting Haven Gray, running The Storybook Theatre, and raising chickens. For Bridgette, the best part of homeschooling is watching her children develop their God-given passions and talents.
Samantha Matthews
Samantha is a lifelong learner who enjoys nurturing a love of learning in her 4 children. She loves how homeschooling allows her & her husband, Brenton, to take a front-seat to their children’s education. When she’s not busy with the beautiful mess of her family’s homeschool life, you can find her wandering through the woods, relaxing on a kayak, or educating veterinarians on their finances.
Bridget Paddock
Bridget’s home school experience began at age ten when her parents decided to bring her and her brother home from Christian school. She credits her mom with giving her an insatiable love of learning. She and her husband, Jon, have five children, ages five to fourteen who they have home schooled from the beginning. Bridget loves the opportunity to work with the children, crafting thier learning environment. She also carves out time to teach private music lessons, host a D-Group, and develop gardens around her home.
Lucille Stekl
Lucille and her husband, Brian, began homeschooling 9 years ago to meet their oldest child’s special education needs, which she feels is the super power of homeschooling- being able to meet each child where they are and teach them how they learn best. When not homeschooling, Lucille can be found blogging at Life Well Inspired, working in the kitchen or garden, or tackling some sort of DIY project.
